    The Formulation Technician is responsible for preparing samples to support the Director of Product Development and the Sales Department. This role involves working with both solid and liquid blend formulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Support the formulation development of solid and liquid blend formulations, including customer samples.

    + Operate laboratory equipment such as blenders, granulators, dryers, homogenizers, etc.

    + Perform and assist in formulation trials by wet or dry granulation.

    + Complete sample requests in a timely manner.

    + Maintain inventory of laboratory materials.

    + Maintain and document experimental and batch records.

    + Assist the R&D team as needed.

    + Obtain all samples and ensure quality control approval prior to shipping to customers.

    + Keep the laboratory in order and ensure glassware is cleaned, dried, and properly stored.

    + Ensure all expired samples and raw materials are disposed of per procedure.

    + Follow all procedures and operate in a safe manner.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in R&D, chemistry, laboratory work, formulation development, and pharmaceutical compounding.

    + Knowledge in analytical chemistry and FDA regulations.

    + Proficiency in maintaining batch records.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or an equivalent area.

    + 2 - 4 years of experience working in a lab setting, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food lab.

    + Experience handling powders in a lab setting and prior experience working with nicotine is preferred.

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with Sage is a plus.

    + Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet tight deadlines.

    + Capability to give and receive constructive feedback.

    + Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Proven organizational skills.

    Work Environment

    This position requires a regular presence in the R&D laboratory, where lab coats and PPE are necessary. The work environment includes a clean room setting. If hired permanently, the company offers great benefits and a work-life balance, with closure for the last one to two weeks of the year.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sykesville, Maryland.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
