    Entry Level Lab Technician

    Actalent is seeking an entry level lab technician to work in the materials characterization lab and support production and engineering goals for a company in the semiconductor industry. The Technician I supports the laboratories and technical teams with sample preparation, test preparation and execution, data analysis, product processing, and project support.

     

    2nd shift

    Hours: 2pm-10pm M-F

    ** training will be

     

    on 1st shit 7am-330am (could be for 4-5 months)

     

    Technicians work with power tools and polishing equipment, as well as acids and solvents in an ISO14001/ISO9001 certified environment.

     

    Prepares samples and processes products.

     

    Sets up equipment, assemblies, and experiments.

     

    Collects data per work instructions or experimental plans.

     

    Prepares reports with data and analysis.

     

    Supports senior level technicians and engineers with project execution.

     

    Understands and adheres to all safety requirements. Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.

     

    Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

     

    Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

     

    Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct. Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.

    Skills

    Mechanically inclined, use of power tools. Big plus experience in metallurgy, materials science, composite material

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    High school diploma required

    Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

     

    Able to keep detailed notes and well-organized data.

     

    Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on a regular and routine basis.

     

    Frequent bending and twisting required.

     

    Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

     

    Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.

     

    A plus is having previous lab exp, huge plus if its in a characterization type of lab

    This person will be running tests, follow a procedure, enter data into quality system, GMP exp

    Lots of sample prep + any familiarity with shop equipment (grinders, lathes, mills, power tools, etc.)

     

    Ideal candidates on the team come from mechanical backgrounds, materials sciences, metallurgy, composites. Will be working with their hands and using power tools!

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
