The Teaching Assistant in the 8:1:2 K–1 Readiness Program provides instructional and behavioral support to students with diverse learning needs in a structured special education setting. The program is designed to build foundational academic, social-emotional, and readiness skills for students requiring a highly supportive environment. The Teaching Assistant works closely with the classroom teacher, related service providers, and support staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs), foster student independence, and promote positive learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist the classroom teacher in delivering daily instructional activities aligned with students’ IEP goals.

+ Provide small-group and one-on-one academic and behavioral support.

+ Support students in developing communication, social, and self-regulation skills through modeling, prompting, and reinforcement.

+ Implement behavior intervention strategies and data collection as directed by the teacher and/or behavior specialist.

+ Monitor and support students’ engagement, safety, and well-being throughout the school day, including classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria, and bus transitions.

+ Prepare instructional materials and adapt classroom resources to meet individual student needs.

+ Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and other support staff to ensure consistency in instructional and behavioral supports.

+ Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions relevant to the role.

+ Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district, state, and federal regulations regarding students.

+ Full-time, 10-month position

+ Monday-Friday / 8:15 am - 3:45 pm

+ Salary per CSEA contract
