Responsibilities Performs all necessary administrative duties as assigned, to include front desk operations and retail sales in the fitness facility. Instructs fitness classes and sports programs as needed. Leads and/or supervises facility operations and personnel in the absence of the Facility Manager. Creates innovative programming and instructional classes within the Sports, Fitness and Aquatics program. Coordinates with marketing to promote and publicize sports, fitness and aquatic programs and events. Assists Facility Manager with financial deposits and daily activity reports (DARs) as well as development of annual operating budget. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition, and assists with recommendations of equipment and facility repairs and/or purchases. Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to carry-out a sports program that included a variety and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques sports. 2. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. 3. Highly Desirable: Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education and work experience as identified above. Possession of a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification Highly Preferred - Resume must demonstrate experience in the highly preferred criteria. 1. Minimum of 1 year experience with instructing fitness classes preferred 2. Candidate will possess a nationally identified Basic Fitness Trainer Certification such as NSCA, NASM, ACE, NETA, or USAW or other nationally identified certifications for fitness instruction/trainer professionals. Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others may be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
