    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Surgical Technologist supports the dentist and surgical team by preparing the operating room and patient, assisting during oral surgery, and maintaining sterile conditions, equipment, and instruments to ensure patient safety.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Assist chairside during oral surgery (suctioning, passing instruments, retraction).

    + Prepare, set up, and break down surgical/treatment areas.

    + Sterilize, organize, and maintain instruments and equipment.

    + Verify instrument counts and confirm proper sterilization.

    + Monitor supply levels and readiness of surgical tools.

    + Assist with patient prep, positioning, and draping.

    + Support overall workflow and perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + CST certification

    + BLS/CPR certification

    + High School Diploma

    GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    + Working knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and sterile processing.

    + Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

    + Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    + Accuracy in counts, sterilization, and adherence to protocols.

    + Calm and focused under pressure and in emergency situations.

    + Professional, organized, and patient-centered demeanor.
