Overview
Directs the company's disability and non-disability leave of absence, Worker's Compensation, Safety, Ergonomics and ADA & FML programs to ensure legal compliance, limit organizational liability, and provide case management for employees. Supports all functions of the leave of absence process while focusing on process improvement and reductions in lost time frequency and duration.
Responsibilities
+ Manages and directs the absence management and safety team. Responsibile for hiring, ongoing training, and development of direct reports, including employee evaluations, to ensure consistent internal process are followed.
+ Ensures claims are handled in accordance with established quality and timeliness measures and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Oversees administration of the company's ADA program, family medical leaves, return to work initiatives, maternity, military, medical, intermittent, and other leaves.
+ Creates and implements quality process improvements to further improve efficiency and reduce lost time frequency, duration, and associated cost. Anticipates trends and integrates best practices. Collaborates with key internal stakeholders.
+ Monitors and evaluates Worker's Comp. trends. Creates and implements continuous process / quality improvements to reduce frequency rates, durations, and associated costs. Oversee claim resolution, settlement, and denials of WC's claims. Oversee vendor performance, including evaluation/negotiation of annual contract renewal. Promotes safety and ergonomics programs to ensure company awareness and early intervention / prevention to decrease lost time and durations due to non-work related illnesses and injuries.
+ Coordinates as needed with internal Paychex business partners, including Finance, HRS, Employee Relations Managers, HR Business Partners, Benefits Specialists, and Legal. Establishes professional relationships with the company's external vendor partners. Manages the coordination between the vendor(s), Paychex management, the employee and his/her medical provider(s) to ensure a successful transition.
+ Ensures all written communications (Intranet, handbook, employer postings, vendor communications, SPD's and other plan documents, letters, etc.) are current and in compliance with applicable laws.
+ Develops and maintains metrics to measure effectiveness of all case management programs, including development of Productivity ROI. Reports and analyzes leave data regularly to monitor programs and identify trends and makes recommendations. Provides meaningful absence and safety data to senior leaders throughout the company for the purpose of identifying workforce resource planning.
+ Responsible for training managers and supervisors on leave policies, roles & responsibilities, laws, and processes such as Reasonable Accommodations, safety, ergonomics and Return to Work/Stay at Work efforts.
+ Vendor Management: Manage relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants. Negotiate contracts, monitor service delivery, and ensure the effective management of vendor performance.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree - Required
+ 3 years of experience in Corporate benefits experience in multi-state environment.
+ 8 years of experience in Absence management experience, including return to work coordination,.
+ 2 years of experience in Legal field, including ability to comprehend state and federal laws.
Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $79,000 - $124,100 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the Talent Acquisition & Onboarding position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
