We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join our team. This role involves staying current with payroll tax compliance laws, collaborating with teams to resolve inquiries, analyzing payroll data, and ensuring accurate tax filings.
Responsibilities
+ Stay updated with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations, providing recommendations for applicable changes.
+ Collaborate with teams and various workstreams to resolve employee inquiries within SLA timeframes.
+ Analyze payroll or employee data entries affecting tax withholding or reporting accuracy, identifying causes, and proposing corrective actions.
+ Record, monitor, and resolve agency tax notices with third-party providers and government agencies.
+ Perform detailed jurisdictional reconciliations for audits.
+ Create ad hoc reports to support multiple workstreams and functions.
+ Execute system testing to ensure changes are accurate and timely.
+ Monitor internal controls proactively for accuracy and compliance.
+ Audit and validate payroll tax filings submitted by third-party service providers.
+ Review and confirm payroll tax deposits to avoid penalties.
+ Identify unusual transactions, escalating and coordinating resolution with third-party payroll providers.
+ Assist with quarter balancing and year-end processes with ADP Tax Services.
+ Initiate and record earnings and tax adjustments in the payroll system, ensuring documentation supports taxable wages and liabilities.
+ Engage in transactions related to expatriate and inpatriate employees, monitoring tax impacts.
+ Resolve ServiceNow cases per KPIs while delivering exceptional customer service.
Essential Skills
+ A relevant Bachelor's degree with two years of payroll time experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
+ 5 years of tax experience without a degree or an associate and 2 years of experience.
+ Knowledge of payroll methods, end-to-end processing steps, and best practices.
+ Up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and other MS Office applications.
+ Hands-on experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll.
+ Critical thinking skills to investigate and resolve issues.
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt well to changing priorities.
+ Workday payroll module experience.
+ ADP experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with creating ad hoc reports.
+ Capability to perform detailed jurisdictional reconciliations for audits.
+ Familiarity with resolving agency tax notices with third-party providers and government agencies.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring you to be on-site three days a week. You will work in a fast-paced setting that requires adaptability to meet deadlines and changing priorities. Dress code and other specifics are flexible, provided they are appropriate for a professional setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
