We are seeking a dedicated AP/AR Specialist to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. The role involves managing accounts receivable and payable processes, primarily using QuickBooks, to ensure efficient payment cycle activities. This position is based onsite, with four days a week at our Tualatin, OR location and one day a week at our Portland location.
Responsibilities
+ Manage all payment cycle activities, primarily within QuickBooks, in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Track payments, expenditures, sales orders, invoices, and statements.
+ Process scale tickets for invoicing and settle dealer-level tickets.
+ Send invoices via mail, email, and fax.
+ Post payments to invoices and make deposits, occasionally driving to the local bank.
+ Process checks using a scanner and prepare A/R aging reports for management and customers.
+ Prepare A/R reports for month-end closing and follow up with customers for overdue payments.
+ Act as a backup for the scale office and A/P clerk, processing scale tickets and answering phones.
+ Maintain account files and post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
+ Post revenues by verifying and entering transactions and update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
+ Resolve authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries and unauthorized deductions by following procedures.
+ Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts and verifying totals.
+ Maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in QuickBooks for all functions related to AP and AR, including invoicing.
+ Experience in accounts receivable invoice processing and reconciliations, processing at least 15+ invoices daily.
+ 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable and preferably some accounts payable experience.
+ Advanced communication skills for interacting with customers and vendors.
+ Attention to detail, speed, customer service skills, and accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Mid-level Excel skills.
+ Experience with financial reporting is a plus.
+ Operational accounting experience or experience with general ledger and close processes is preferred but not required.
+ Credit experience is preferred but not required.

The work schedule starts at 7 am, with four days at the Tualatin location and one day at the Portland location. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
