Job Title: Accounts Receivable/Collections SpecialistJob Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the financial operations of a school community. As an Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing student billing accounts and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Responsibilities
+ Administer all aspects of family and student billing accounts for the school.
+ Process and post payments received to accounts using the applicable billing and accounting systems.
+ Reconcile general ledger entries to billing and payment entries and prepare reports needed to complete monthly close.
+ Respond to customer requests for additional information related to accounts, charges, and payments in a prompt and courteous manner.
+ With approval, manage some exceptions to the standard process.
+ Work closely with the team to assure the accuracy of periodic financial reporting of billings and payments.
+ Coordinate with the Development team to ensure the accuracy of recorded donations and pledge payments.
+ Support billing/payment logistics associated with various programs and activities.
+ Prepare annual re-enrollment accounts for new students.
+ Process incoming payments, donations, and reconcile electronic payments.
+ Generate monthly statements in both electronic and paper formats.
+ Communicate with families to collect past due balances and document communications.
+ Notify parties regarding delinquent accounts and initiate collection actions as needed.
+ Sort and file correspondence from families and education consultants.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in accounts receivable and accounting systems.
+ Strong customer service and collections experience.
+ Data entry and invoicing skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to support Payroll & Benefits Coordinator as needed.
+ Experience in answering phones, screening calls, and sorting/distributing mail.
+ Proficient in general clerical duties including filing, photocopying, and faxing.
+ Capability to assist with special projects.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pomfret, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
