    Hybrid Staff Accountant Opportunity in Baltimore!

    Job Description

    We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to oversee various accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations. This role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and supporting grant-related activities.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor account maintenance, and expense report review.

    + Oversee Payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.

    + Handle Accounts Receivable activities, including preparing invoices, applying payments, and maintaining aging accounts.

    + Prepare schedules to support grants, programs, and donor-related activities.

    + Assist with fixed asset inventory and recordkeeping.

    + Analyze workflow processes and recommend improvements.

    + Perform account maintenance, prepare accounting schedules, reconciliations, and record entries.

    + Prepare documentation and reports for Executive Management, Department Heads, and the Board of Directors.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong experience in BS Reconciliation.

    + Proficient in Journal Entry preparation.

    + Experience with cash deposits and cash reporting.

    + 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.

    + 2-4 years of accounting experience, including transactions, reconciliations, and variance reports.

    + Proficiency in commercial accounting systems, including Abila MIP and SAGE Intacct.

    + Skilled in Microsoft Office, with expertise in Excel.

    + Experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable.

    + Preferred experience in Healthcare or Nonprofit sectors.

    + Preferred experience with grants.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring two days on-site per week.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
