Seeking a Payroll Manager in the Wausau Area!!
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a multi-entity organization. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing payroll policies and systems. The manager will lead a team of payroll professionals and collaborate with internal departments to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage payroll operations across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
+ Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
+ Oversee system updates, testing, and implementation of new payroll technologies.
+ Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, tax filings, and year-end reporting, including 941s, 1099s, and UC filings.
+ Coordinate and participate in audits, including workers’ compensation and financial audits.
+ Prepare financial reconciliations and analytical reports related to payroll activities.
+ Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in all payroll processes.
+ Provide leadership and performance evaluations for payroll team members.
+ Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to align payroll functions with organizational objectives.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting or payroll department.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and accounts payable systems.
+ Up-to-date understanding of federal and state payroll regulations.
+ Proficiency in preparing financial statements and reports.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Supervisory experience preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
This position is based at our Wausau Corporate office, operating 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, during typical office hours.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wausau, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.62 - $50.00/hr.
