About the role The Director of Global Quality Systems & Reliability, reporting to the Senior Director of Quality, is responsible for implementing and harmonizing quality management systems across the global manufacturing footprint. This role emphasizes developing and deploying advanced quality tools, training plant personnel on those tools, and embedding a Culture of Quality throughout the organization. Additionally, the Director will lead structured problem-solving efforts to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. The Director will also implement a product reliability process, pulling in information from all applicable sources and developing predictive reliability frameworks. This position will be located within one of Leviton's manufacturing facilities, preferably in Morganton, North Carolina or Chihuahua, Mexico. Responsibilities The Director of Global Quality Systems & Reliability will partner with relevant corporate and plant personnel to implement structured quality management systems and processes across manufacturing operations. They will provide leadership on addressing quality concerns, product reliability, quality tool development and training consistent with company goals, objectives and policies. The Director will support the facilitation of continuous improvement initiatives, while working to instill a Culture of Quality across our operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Global QMS Implementation Lead the deployment of a unified Quality Management System (QMS) across all identified Electrical manufacturing sites. Ensure consistent application of quality standards, documentation, and audit protocols. Collaborate with site leaders to tailor QMS elements to local operations while maintaining global consistency. Tool Deployment & Training Spearhead the rollout of PFMEAs, control plans, and other core quality tools across all plants. Develop and deliver training programs for manufacturing and engineering teams on quality methodologies. Support structured problem-solving initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. Establish tool usage metrics and feedback loops to drive adoption and effectiveness. Reliability Engineering & Predictive Tools Design and implement reliability models to forecast product and process performance. Integrate predictive analytics into quality planning, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement efforts. Partner with engineering and data teams to translate reliability insights into actionable improvements. Quality Issue Resolution Lead cross-functional teams in addressing quality concerns using structured problem-solving tools, including 8D methodology. Drive root cause analysis and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Monitor effectiveness of solutions and ensure closure of quality issues across all sites. Culture of Quality Act as a catalyst for cultural transformation, promoting ownership and accountability for quality at all levels. Recognize and reinforce behaviors that support proactive quality thinking and continuous improvement. Facilitate cross-site knowledge sharing and best practice adoption. Qualifications Deep understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance frameworks Proven track record managing global teams and multi-site operations. Certifications such as ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly desirable. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Proven strong interpersonal and talent management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to work cross functionally. Ability to reduce complex concepts into simplified forms and educate others on those concepts. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering required. Master’s degree preferred. 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing quality, with a focus on QMS implementation and reliability tools. Deep expertise in PFMEA, control plans, 8D problem-solving, and reliability engineering. Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ CQE certification strongly preferred. Strong communication and training skills across diverse teams and cultures. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive changes in complex environments. Travel Up to 40% travel within the US and Mexio (and China as needed) will be required.
