Role at a Glance

As a Frontend Platform Engineer, Lead you will be responsible for a team building the web frontend of our Cantilever™ software platform. From day one, you will be partnering closely with forward-deployed engineering teams to build interfaces for use at Gecko’s client sites, working with Gecko’s internal operations teams to accelerate inspection turnaround times, and working with Gecko’s other software platform teams to ensure continued scaling of the software platform into the future.

What you will do

+ Lead a team focused on Cantilever™ Forecast, our customer-facing web portal

+ Mentor and guide engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical discussions

+ Work closely with forward-deployed engineering teams in order to build out new client-facing functionality

+ Interface with Operations, Sales, and other internal teams in order to implement workflows for use at Gecko

+ Collaborate with Product, Design and other software teams to expand the broader Gecko Software platform

Technologies We Use

Cantilever™ Forecast is built with Typescript+React, using ThreeJS (WebGL) for procedural, client-side rendering and a blend of technologies for server-side rendering. Data processing services are written in Python.

About You

Required Skills

+ 8+ years of hands-on frontend development experience, with at least 3+ years in React.js

+ 3+ years of management/leadership experience: hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering teams

+ Proven ability to collaborate across teams in a rapidly-changing workplace environment

+ Strong understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data-intensive application design

+ Comfort with ambiguity and driving clarity in requirements

Preferred Skills

+ Familiarity with Vite, Playwright, and SWR specifically

+ Experience with ThreeJS, WebGL, and related technologies

+ Strong Python skills

$150K – $220K

This range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Gecko based on the current available market data; it does not include bonuses, equity, or other salary components. Where a candidate falls in the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location.
