**Job Title:** Director of IT Operations for EMCOR Construction Services
**Location:** McLean, VA (Remote)
**Reports to:** ECS Vice President, Information Technology
**FLSA Status:** Full-Time / Exempt

SUMMARY
The Director of IT Operations is responsible for the IT infrastructure and support services provided to ECS and its Operating Companies. This is a hands-on, management, and strategic role in the ECS IT team. Working with various teams, this position will deliver the highest quality IT solutions and support throughout ECS. This position will also manage full-time and consulting resources, as well as to help establish the IT strategy for ECS and be a leader within the team. This position is based in McLean, Virginia. However, candidates in other locations and meeting the requirements below may be considered.
Compensation Range: $170,000 - $180,000
This position is bonus eligible
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.
+ Deliver excellent support to ECS Operating Companies through exceptional customer service
+ Ensure that ECS IT strategies and projects align with the business goals of EMCOR
+ Provide leadership for both ECS IT teams and the IT teams at our 50+ geographically diverse Operating Companies
+ Assist in establishing the IT strategy for ECS in areas like cloud technologies, security, and governance
+ Manage ECS infrastructure, business continuity and disaster recovery, and support functions
+ Lead multiple complex projects often with competing priorities and timelines
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues at both ECS and our Operating Companies
+ Participate in acquisition activities to support IT & Security processes
+ Attend regular conference calls with EMCOR IT & Security
+ Other duties as assigned by the ECS Vice President, Information Technology
+ Ensure compliance with EMCOR IT SOPs
ESSENTIAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SKILLS
The successful candidate for this role is an individual who demonstrates a high level of service, commitment and execution. The following are required characteristics, knowledge, skills and abilities:
+ Outstanding customer service
+ Excellent organizational skills and self-directed, yet able to follow direction if needed
+ High level of experience with Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory, Hyper-V, Entra, Azure, and Sharepoint required
+ Experience with core IT infrastructure components such as virtual environments, SANs, NAS, LANs, WANs, and VPNs
+ Experience with multiple cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Google
+ Expertise with high availability and scalability concepts
+ Excellent personnel management and coaching skills
+ Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
+ Strong troubleshooting skills
+ Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST and CMMC a plus
+ Exceptional communication skills, written and oral; capable of leading meetings in a professional manner
+ Able to work with executive teams as well as technical teams
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills
+ Experience implementing IT and Security initiatives (think Cortex replacing CB)
+ Experience with MDM, ITSM & ITAM
+ Proactive change agent skills with competent follow through
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
+ Ten (10) years of progressive IT experience in areas of support, infrastructure, and / or architecture in a complex environment with at least 3-5 years management experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in related IT and / or business area
+ Demonstrated high level of professional experience with Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory, Hyper-V, Entra, Azure, and Sharepoint required
+ Prior experience managing personnel
+ Ability to work effectively independently and in teams
+ Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
+ Ability to travel as business need arises
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
