    _Our client is a growing health science company focused on developing innovative solutions that support healthy aging. They are looking for a skilled Public Relations and Communications Manager to join their team!_

     

    **Location:** Los Angeles, CA - Hybrid schedule

    **Salary:** $85K - $110K annually

    **Reports To:** Associate Manager, Communications

    **Employment Type:** Full-Time

    Job Summary

    The Associate Manager of Public Relations and Communications plays a pivotal role in executing and managing strategic PR initiatives that elevate the company’s reputation, promote product innovation, and position the organization as a thought leader in the competitive bioscience sector. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented communicator with strong media relations expertise, excellent writing skills, and experience managing integrated PR campaigns.

    Key Responsibilities

    Media Relations & Strategy

    + Develop and execute proactive media outreach strategies aligned with company milestones, product launches, and research achievements.

    + Craft compelling media pitches and press materials that attract coverage across print, digital, and broadcast outlets.

    + Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and bloggers in the bioscience, health, and business media landscapes.

    Content Creation & Messaging

    + Write and edit a variety of high-impact communication materials, including press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, blogs, backgrounders, executive talking points, and speeches.

    + Manage content review and approval workflows in coordination with Legal, Regulatory, and Executive stakeholders.

    + Maintain message consistency across earned media and other external communication channels.

    Campaign Management

    + Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of PR campaigns—from concept to measurement.

    + Monitor and analyze media coverage and campaign performance using tools such as Cision, Meltwater, or Muckrack.

    + Provide regular reporting and insights to internal stakeholders on PR impact and opportunities for optimization.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Partner closely with teams across the organization (e.g., R&D, Marketing, Legal, Investor Relations) to align communications strategies with business objectives.

    + Serve as a communications advisor to internal teams to uncover and shape storytelling opportunities.

    Qualifications

    + A bachelor’s degree with 4–6 years of experience in public relations, communications, or marketing, preferably in the biosciences, life sciences, or healthcare industries.

    + Proven track record of securing media placements across traditional and digital channels.

    + Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio of professional PR materials (press releases, media pitches, blogs, etc.).

    + Experience with PR and media monitoring platforms (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Muckrack, Qwoted).

    + Understanding of how to leverage social media and digital platforms for PR and engagement.

    + Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), social listening tools like Tribe, and other marketing analytics tools.

    + Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

    Preferred

    + Experience in a supervisory or lead role (mentoring, managing freelancers, or coordinating project teams).

    + Background in or strong interest in science communications, health journalism, or regulated industries.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
