The Windows Fundamentals team is dedicated to delivering exceptional quality experiences that make Windows the most reliable and performant operating system for users worldwide. We are seeking a **Product Manager II** to drive strategic quality initiatives that enhance Windows platform health and fundamentals while collaborating closely with feature teams and silicon partners to deliver best-in-class OS and AI experiences.
You will be responsible for owning critical quality metrics, transforming user feedback into actionable product improvements, and designing systems that empower engineering teams with the intelligence needed to deliver delightful user experiences. This role requires someone who can balance technical depth with customer empathy, driving measurable improvements to Windows stability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities
+ Strategic Metrics: Define, own, and drive strategic metrics and guardrail mechanisms that improve Windows fundamentals and prevent quality regressions.
+ Customer Voice and Perception: Convert user feedback, perception metrics, and telemetry insights into strategic product initiatives that address real customer pain points.
+ Early Detection Systems: Define and implement early problem detection mechanisms that identify quality issues before they impact users at scale.
+ Development Process Integration: Integrate quality assurance, testing, and reliability practices earlier into the software development lifecycle across partner teams.
+ User Experience Excellence: Reduce user interruptions and drive systematic improvements to OS and application stability through data-driven initiatives.
+ Platform Modernization: Drive initiatives to modernize Windows user experience fundamentals, ensuring compatibility with evolving hardware and AI capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of experience in product management, program management, or technical leadership roles.
+ Experience working with complex technical systems, including analyzing and solving performance, reliability and quality challenges.
+ Experience translating customer feedback and usage data into product improvements and strategic initiatives.
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
+ 2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
+ Experience ability to identify root causes, develop systematic solutions, and drive resolution of complex technical and product challenges.
+ Design Thinking: Understanding of user-centered design principles and experience working with design teams to improve user experiences.
Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
