Fire Alarm Technician – Nashville Office
TEKsystems is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to support operations at a Nashville office, with a focus on voice, data, and fire alarm systems. This role involves installing, configuring, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing a range of low voltage systems, including:
+ Fire Alarm Systems
+ Access Control
+ CCTV
+ Nurse Call Systems
+ Intercom Systems
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
+ Program, start-up, troubleshoot, and commission new system installations
+ Perform point-to-point diagnostics on fire alarms, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom systems
+ Communicate clearly with project leads and clients regarding project status, challenges, and timelines
+ Assist with system installations under direction to ensure successful execution
+ Identify and report installation or system issues to the project lead
+ Review contracts and design documents for accuracy prior to installation
+ Conduct inspections to ensure systems meet code and operational standards
+ Complete detailed project documentation and reports
+ Respond to emergency service calls as needed
+ Maintain strong written and verbal communication with clients and team members
+ Demonstrate attention to detail and resolve customer issues efficiently
+ Work rotating on-call shifts as assigned
+ Maintain regular, in-person attendance during business hours and as required
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
+ Cat6 cabling and installation
+ Low voltage system installation and troubleshooting
+ Fire alarm and access control systems
+ Strong cabling and wiring expertise
Qualifications
+ Proficiency in low voltage systems including fire alarms, access control, CCTV, nurse call, and intercom
+ Technical aptitude and computer literacy
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to operate lifts and climb ladders (8’ or taller)
+ Experience using hand tools and multi-meters
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
+ Comfortable reporting to a Project Manager and following instructions
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
