About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Java Backend Developer to join our high-performing technology team. In this role, you will design and develop scalable software solutions using Spring Boot, Microservices, and PL/SQL. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver robust, high-quality applications that enhance user experience and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

+ Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using Java, Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.

+ Build and optimize RESTful Web Services for seamless system integration.

+ Apply Spring Core principles to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of applications.

+ Write and manage PL/SQL scripts for efficient data handling and database operations.

+ Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure software quality.

+ Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

+ Provide technical support and resolve application issues as needed.

+ Document technical specifications, design artifacts, and user guides.

+ Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

+ Collaborate in a hybrid work environment to maximize productivity and team synergy.

+ Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

+ 4–7 years of hands-on experience in software development.

+ Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Spring Core.

+ Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

+ Solid experience with PL/SQL for database development and data manipulation.

+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

+ Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

+ Adaptability to hybrid work environments and evolving technologies.

Certifications

+ Certified Spring Professional

+ Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $46,000 – $75,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
