About the role
As a **Senior Quality Engineering Lead** , you will make an impact by driving the development and execution of robust testing strategies that ensure software quality, reliability, and compliance. You will be a valued member of the **Quality Engineering & Assurance** team and work collaboratively with developers, Product owners, and Scrum Masters to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
In this role, you will:
+ Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive test strategies across multiple platforms and technologies.
+ Oversee the implementation of automated testing frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright.
+ Provide mentorship to junior quality engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into Agile and SAFe development methodologies.
+ Manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to streamline testing and deployment processes.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a **hybrid position requiring 2–3 days a week** in a client or Cognizant office in **Riverwoods, IL** . What you need to have to be considered:
+ Proven experience in leading quality engineering initiatives and test strategy development.
+ Hands-on experience with automated testing tools including Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright.
+ Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins and version control systems such as GitHub.
+ Proficiency in API testing using RestAssured and Postman.
+ Solid understanding of SQL and PL/SQL for data validation and integrity checks.
+ Experience with scripting languages including **Java, Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript** .
These will help you stand out:
+ Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and SAFe Agile methodologies.
+ Familiarity with Jira for test management and defect tracking.
+ Ability to analyze test results and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
+ Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of emerging testing tools and practices.

• The annual salary for this position is between [$71,100/- to $112,500/-] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
