About this Job
The mission of the Secretary of State's office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting, securing and communicating information that enhances commerce, ensures the integrity of Louisiana's elections and preserves, presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisiana's operations and its recorded history.
The Administrative Support Section of the Secretary of State is looking for a Policy Planner 1, 2 or 3 to provide administrative consultation relative to strategic planning and performance standards, operational policies and procedures, independent analysis of management problems and program objectives, development of practical solutions and participation in the implementation of approved recommendations for all agency activities, particularly those relating to Act 205 of the 2019 legislative session.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in policy planning; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in policy planning; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in policy planning; OR
An advanced degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Assists with monitoring and reporting of quarterly performance indicators
+ Assists with responding to requests for local election cost estimates
+ Assists with the preparation of legislative fiscal notes
+ Assists with the preparation of operational and strategic plans
+ Serves as back-up petty cash custodian
