• Mechanic Helper

    Power-Flo Technologies (Buffalo, NY)


    Power-Flo Technologies is seeking a Mechanic Helper to join the team at our Buffalo Pump and Motor Repair shop. This role is to assist the Mechanics in the cleaning, painting, testing, binning, partially disassembling of AC/DC motors and pumps.

     

    Mechanic Helper Essential Responsibilities

     

    + Assist in the maintenance of service truck tools, safety equipment, instruments, and materials, specific to pump, motor, and equipment maintenance and repairs.

    + Assist mechanics with the disassembly of pump and motor assemblies.

    + Cleaning Parts using a sandblaster and air tools.

    + Keep shop areas clean from debris.

    + Assist in the maintenance of required stock of pumps, parts, fittings, pipe and related material on the service truck.

    + Performs cleaning, lubricating of tools as required.

    + Performs duties in a professional manner and works well with others or in a team setting.

    + Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies, and the public.

    + Regular attendance and adherence to prescribed work schedule to conduct job responsibilities.

    + Observes safe work practices and safety methods; performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Mechanic Helper Necessary Qualifications

     

    + High School diploma, GED equivalent, or Trade School Diploma.

    + Read, interpret, and work from sketches, books, blueprints, and specifications or willingness to learn.

    + Familiar with various hand tools.

    + Familiar with power tools such as impact guns, cut off wheels, and drills.

    + Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

    + The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 100 pounds.

    + Must have a valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles.

    Physical Requirements

    + Ability to Stand for 8 Hours

    + Ability to lift 50 pounds

    + Ability to work on elevated platforms

    + Ability to climb ladders

    Salary Range: Between $16 - $18/hour
