**VCA Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center** of Westbury, is growing and to better support the pets and people in our community we are in search of an experienced **licensed veterinary technician** to be a part of our **Surgery** team.

Are you interested in obtaining your Veterinary Technician Specialty? We have the ability to support the most advanced cases with cutting-edge technology utilizing our CT, MRI, and hyperbaric oxygen chamber (HBOT). We support full technician skill utilization and are dedicated to provide gold standard medicine and exceptional patient care. Our outstanding medicine is supported by a VTS in (ECC), and a VTS in (SAIM) and we continue to support a hospital culture of growth and development for all levels of technician.

**Compensation** : $29 – $37 / hour based on skill set, 3 -5 years of experience, and licensure status (LVT, VTS)

**Potential Schedule** : Full time (4)10 hour shifts, department is open Tuesday thru Saturday

Surgery Licensed Veterinary Technician Duties** **:

+ Procedural anesthesia monitoring

+ Ability to calculate drug doses

+ Full Technician Skill Utilization, bronchoscopy, endoscopes, and more!

+ Collecting patient histories & thorough physical exams

+ Venipuncture / IVC placement

+ Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)

+ Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services

+ Providing compassionate care for all patients

+ Paid on-call availability

+ Ability to work additional hours if necessary

+ Minimum 1 year experience

VREC is located just 28 miles or a short train ride to New York City and beaches all around. We offer 4 specialties including Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Oncology. We are Trauma Level 1 Certified, indicating our resources and ability to provide sophisticated emergent and critical patient care. We offer multiple advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities such as MRI, CT, and Fluoroscopy.
