    PURPOSE OF JOB:

    The Vice President, Finance, North America plays a crucial role in overseeing and driving financial performance for the North America region for the veterinary diagnostics business. This individual reports to the Global CFO, Mars Science & Diagnostics and serves as the key finance business partner to the President of North America, Research & Development (R&D). Responsibilities include financial planning, analysis, and reporting across commercial (selling, marketing, customer support, sales analytics), and R&D innovation pipeline. This senior leadership position is responsible for developing and executing financial strategies that align with the company’s overall goals, driving revenue growth, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making. This associate has expertise in financial management and demonstrates exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and business partnership skills, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

     

    This is a Hybrid role, where the ideal candidate will be located near either of our New York City, Fountain Valley, CA or Loveland, CO Corporate Hubs.** **The Target Pay Range for this position is $219,000 - $275,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Strategic Financial Leadership:

    Ensure alignment with the global divisional financial objectives and Mars Petcare's strategic goals.

     

    Develop and execute financial strategies and value creation roadmap that support North America business performance.

     

    Coordinate with function owners on actionable analysis of sales and operational data to provide management with key conclusions on driving sales and profitability.

     

    Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and investment across commercial and operational areas.

     

    Lead financial modeling to assess the financial impact of customer agreements, operational changes and new product development.

     

    Facilitate communication between finance and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and address the financial impact of business decisions.

    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

    Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for North America region.

     

    Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

     

    Analyze financial performance and variances, identifying trends and areas for improvement

     

    Establish forecast process link to S&OP process in partnership with Global FPA

     

    Develop detailed financial models to support decision-making and evaluate the financial implications of marketing/sales strategies, operational changes and new product development.

     

    Establish digital reporting and dashboarding to enable business to assess performance

    Business Partnering and Performance management:

    Drive customer profitability analyses across GPOs, corporate accounts, and MVH to optimize pricing and margin. Partner with commercial leadership on competitive dynamics to inform deal structure, approvals, and resource allocation and ROI deal modeling

     

    Evaluate sales incentives to evaluate customer investment to drive value creation

     

    Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial expertise and support for strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

     

    Act as a trusted advisor to the North America leadership team, providing financial insights and guidance to drive business performance.

     

    Monitor and analyze key financial metrics such as customer deal profitability, cost structures, capital expenditures, and project-specific financials.

     

    R&D partnership, shaping investment decision, ROI assessment, Pipeline prioritization for new product launches with financial analysis and risk assessment.

     

    Support the business in delivering efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

     

    Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial and operational performance.

     

    Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

     

    Lead necessary action to drive NCFO performance and forecast accuracy in collaboration with North America Finance Operation team and Group controller

    Leadership and Team Development:

    Recruit, develop, and retain top financial talent, building a high-performing finance team, elevate maturity across FPA, Control and analytics to meet the needs of a rapidly scaling diagnostics business

     

    Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for finance team members.

     

    Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes innovation and excellence

     

    Act as an active member of Global SDx Finance Leadership team.

     

    Ensure that all team members adhere to the company’s ethical standards and values, including the Five Principles.

    Governance, Compliance and Risk Management:

    Implement a robust governance and control framework, which is aligned to Mars Incorporate standards and local regulatory requirements.

     

    Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements, with the support of the relevant Mars functions

     

    Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective risk management strategies.

     

    Oversee statutory audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field; Master’s degree or CPA a plus

     

    At least 15 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a minimum of 5 years in a business partnership finance role

     

    Experience in health diagnostics (human or pet health) is advantageous, otherwise strong learning agility is critical

     

    Strong understanding and experience of financial planning, analysis, and financial operations.

     

    Prior experience in managing ~$1B+ P&L or multi-country finance leadership is highly preferred
