    Supply Planner Role

     

    Pay Grade: 6-10

    Position Overview

    Sylvamo’s Supply Chain is very integrated and utilizes a centralized SAP system. The functional groups work together closely every day in order to be successful.

     

    The Supply Planner is responsible for maintaining run schedules that meet the needs of our manufacturing facilities and customers. Supply Planners work closely with production facilities, Customer Service, Replenishment Planners, and Sales to ensure run schedules are published that enable Sylvamo to make and keep promises to our customers.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Create detailed production plans that minimize waste and production over/under runs while meeting the unique requirements of each asset

    + Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to meet cost and service objectives

    + Drive integrated alignment between customer service, replenishment, mill, and commercial teams

    + Anticipate, react to, and resolve manufacturing/market disruptions to maintain service levels

    + Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams on daily activities, issues, and concerns that affect customer commitments

    + Acquire an understanding of Sylvamo’s end-to-end supply chain and S&OP processes

    + Support a culture of continuous improvement by assisting/leading deliberate improvement projects

    + Mentor and train new employees in SAP transactions, processes, and responsibilities

    + _Note: The role will does require occasional after-hour on-call coverage to support business operations (rotational)_

    Challenges:

    + Ability to work under pressure to resolve immediate issues while meeting scheduled business deadlines and customer commitments.

    + Balancing the daily planning work necessary to maintain continuing operations while meeting key planning metrics and accomplishing longer-term process improvement projects.

    + Understanding the downstream impact of decision-making, in particular around manufacturing and distribution costs.

    + Balancing the mill constraints against the needs of replenishment, customer service, and secondary processes (sheeting/rewinding).

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Forestry or Engineering related fields preferred) or equivalent, relevant work experience required (at least 4 years’ experience) or a combination of an associate’s degree with relevant work experience (at least 2 years’ experience)

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to achieve results in a team environment

    + Ability to quickly learn new business processes and technology

    + Supply Chain or relevant Customer Service experience preferred

    + SAP experience preferred
