Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Training Instructional Designer_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Training Instructional Designer to join the Central Characterization Program (CCP) Training team. CCP is responsible for ensuring TRU waste is safe and compliant for transportation and permanent disposal at the WIPP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality, performance-based training programs for CCP personnel in a highly techhnical and safety-conscious work environment.
The CCP Training and Qualification Program is managed and maintained using the Department of Energy (DOE) Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), as required by DOE O 426.2, and through the application of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). This role is essential to ensure the CCP workforce is effectively qualified, our operations are conducted in a safe and disciplined manner, and our training program meets the strict compliance requirements from DOE O 426.2.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Apply the DOE SAT and ADDIE model to develop and maintain effective technical and professional training programs.
+ Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SME), management, and training peers, to ensure content is accurate, effective, and in alignment with operational and mission needs.
+ Design and develop a wide range of robust training materials, including formal classroom content (and lesson plans), on-the-job training and evaluations, and knowledge-based examinations.
+ Facilitate training sessions, including classroom and virtual training sessions.
+ Maintain accurate training documentation in accordance with quality assurance and records management requirements.
Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of training/adult education experience, or
+ Associate’s degree with seven (7) years of training/adult education experience, or
+ High School Diploma or Equivalency with eleven (11) years of training/adult education experience is required.
+ Demonstrated experience developing training applying the DOE SAT or ADDIE methodology.

Preferred Requirements
+ BS/BA in Training and Development, Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Engineering
+ CCP, DOE or WIPP experience
+ Classroom instructor experience
+ Web-Based Training (WBT) experience (Articulate 360 suite)

Exempt grade level(s) 28-32. Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
