Job Description:
The **Epic Beaker Project Manager** is responsible for planning, executing, and project deliverables related to the implementation, optimization, and support of the **Epic Beaker laboratory information system** deployment. This role partners with laboratory leaders, analysts, IT teams, and vendor resources to ensure successful delivery of Beaker projects that improve laboratory workflows, meet regulatory requirements, and enhance patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the end-to-end deployment of Epic Beaker projects, including implementations and integrations.
+ Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, resource allocation, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, clinical labs, pathology, compliance, and Epic-certified build teams to define project requirements and workflows.
+ Coordinate efforts across teams to support Beaker configuration, interface development (e.g., with instruments, middleware, and Epic Bridges), and validation/testing.
+ Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, steering committee communications, and executive reporting.
+ Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
+ Oversee go-live planning, training coordination, issue escalation, and post-live support.
+ Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., CLIA, CAP) and Epic best practices.
+ Drive change management efforts by supporting end-user engagement, adoption, and communication strategies.
+ Identify, track, and resolve project risks, dependencies, and issues promptly.
Required Skills:
+ Required:5+ years of experience in project management, with specific experience leading Epic Beaker migrations and deployments.
+ Deep understanding of Epic Beaker workflows (Clinical Pathology and/or Anatomic Pathology) and laboratory operations.
+ Proven success managing large-scale healthcare IT projects through the full project life cycle (initiation to post-go-live support).
+ Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Ability to lead diverse teams and collaborate across departments.
+ PMP or other project management certification.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ Familiarity with Epic implementation methodology (e.g., Foundation System, Model System).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
