CTG is seeking to fill a Failure Analysis Technician opening for our client in Albany, NY.

**Duration:** Ongoing Contract

Duties:

+ Follow instructions from lead engineers and job requesters.

+ Independently operate scanning electron microscope (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB), optical microscope, and polishing wheel.

+ Perform physical characterization of advanced semiconductor development wafers.

+ Conduct wafer preparation using polishing and chemical highlighting techniques in a fume hood.

+ Maintain lab equipment, organize, sort, and store wafers.

+ Work alternating week night shifts:

+ Week 1: Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat – 7pm to 7am

+ Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thu – 7pm to 7am

Skills:

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

+ Ability to comprehend 3D structures and interpret 2D cross-sections.

+ Steady hands for handling small, delicate objects.

+ Basic understanding of chemistry and physics.

Experience:

+ Prior experience in the semiconductor industry (1+ years preferred).

+ Understanding of basic integrated circuit principles (1+ years preferred).

+ Experience operating SEM, FIB, or optical microscopes (1+ years preferred).

Education:

+ Associate degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
