    Job Summary

    The Assistant Director will support the Korea Center–King Sejong Institute by managing academic programs, co-teaching courses, developing new initiatives, and fostering relationships with students, faculty, and external partners. This role plays a key part in promoting Korean language and culture across campus and the broader community.

    Essential Functions

    + **Program Management:** Oversee the Contemporary Korea Certificate Program, including student advising, program promotion, and coordination with academic departments.

    + **Instructional Support:** Co-teach credit-bearing courses such as _IDSC 2000_ and other _INTL_ courses that contribute to the Contemporary Korea Certificate.

    + **Internship Coordination:** Assist students with internship placements and build partnerships with local Korean businesses.

    + **Outreach & Recruitment:** Engage with Alabama high schools to recruit students for Korean language and culture programs.

    + **Program Development:** Contribute to the design and implementation of new initiatives, includingESL classes and Korean cultural training programs.

    + **Staff Supervision:** Provide leadership and oversight to Program Coordinators.

    + **Reporting:** Report directly to the Director of the Korea Center–King Sejong Institute.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in Korean Studies, Education, International Relations, or a related field

    + Experience in curriculum and program development

    Desired Qualifications

    + Teaching experience in a higher education setting (preferred)

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    + Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills
