Job Description Job Title: Business Development Representative

    Position Summary:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) serves as a critical link between marketing and sales, fueling pipeline growth, accelerating lead conversion, and supporting Sales Executives with both strategic and tactical execution. This role combines inside sales outreach, field engagement, and sales enablement to support the full buyer journey from initial interest through conversion.

The BDR plays a key role in Convey Health Solutions’ revenue engine—managing outbound outreach, identifying RFP opportunities, gathering competitive intelligence, and contributing to a mission-driven team that delivers high-value solutions to health plans nationwide.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lead Generation & Market Intelligence:

+ Conduct initial discovery calls to understand client priorities, budget sensitivity, and solution needs.

+ Monitor the market for relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or procurement activities aligned with company offerings and share early intelligence with the sales team.

+ Maintain and refine targeted outreach lists in collaboration with marketing and business development leadership.

+ Identify early buying signals and qualify leads for Sales Executive follow-up.

+ Capture and share competitive insights to support strategic positioning and pricing decisions.

    Sales Process Support:

+ Partner closely with Sales Executives to support pre-sales activities, stakeholder mapping, and follow-up communications.

+ Assist in gathering reference materials, case studies, and other documentation to support sales presentations.

+ Maintain accurate CRM records by logging stakeholder details, meeting notes, and next steps.

+ Draft follow-up emails, meeting summaries, and concise client-facing materials.

+ Prepare briefing documents and internal handoff summaries for implementation teams to ensure continuity and client satisfaction.

    Prospect Engagement & Administrative Support:

+ Support ongoing communication with prospects and clients throughout the deal cycle.

+ Schedule and prepare materials for meetings, check-ins, and product demonstrations.

+ Monitor account activity and identify opportunities for deeper engagement, upsell, or cross-sell.

+ Track feedback and surface potential service issues or retention risks to management.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

+ Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to align prospecting activities with campaigns and content strategy.

+ Assist in preparation for and participation in field activities such as industry conferences, tradeshows, and client events.

+ Monitor account engagement metrics and flag trends that may influence sales strategy or timing.

+ Document key insights to support a seamless transition from sales to implementation.

    Education and Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

+ Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Business Development, Sales Associate, or Client Development role; experience in healthcare or health technology preferred.

+ Proven experience with outbound prospecting, qualifying leads, and building relationships with senior-level stakeholders.

+ Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.

+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general data management practices.

+ Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools or analytics platforms preferred.

+ Familiarity with RFP tracking systems, Medicare Advantage, or value-based care models is highly desirable.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively.

+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ High level of curiosity, initiative, and problem-solving ability.

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

+ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.

+ Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to accuracy, documentation, and follow-through.

    Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $65,000 – $75,000 USD with a commissions structure. While it is not typical to offer candidates at or near the top of the range, we do consider a wide range of factors when making offer decisions, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, a candidate’s relevant skills, training, experience, education and where applicable, licensure and certifications obtained.
