We have an outstanding Contract position for aMaterials Handler to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MDsurrounding area.
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00
US Citizenship is required.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
To support the relocation of staff and laboratory equipment, arrange conference rooms, and pick up and deliver furniture and equipment throughout the property.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Supports the relocation of company personnel and equipment using dollies, hand trucks, desk jacks, vans, forklifts, and high cube truck vehicles. Moves office furniture, laboratory equipment, safes, and packages of all types.
+ Operates company vehicles and equipment such as vans, box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, manual and power tools. Inspects and maintains equipment and vehicles to be in good, safe operating condition.
+ Assists in other areas of the FMT group as necessary.
Basic Hiring Criteria:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ 2+ years of commercial move and/or hands-on material handling experience.
+ 1+ years of forklift experience and ability to obtain an forklift certification.
+ Possess a valid driver's license with no points. The selected candidate will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record Review.
+ Ability to obtain or possess valid DOT medical card.
+ Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and walk extensively.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Experience handling Hazardous Materials.
+ Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
+ Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
+ Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment based on customers ' needs.
+ Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
+ Experience using both hand tools and power tools (especially a cordless drill).
