    Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

     

    + Regulations related to safety, building code, university policy

    + Best practices related to budgeting/purchasing/accounting

    + Deep understanding of laboratory procedures, techniques, capabilities, equipment facility/software requirements (vacuum equipment, compressors/heat exchangers/refrigeration, compressed gas delivery, etc…)

    + Skilled in equipment troubleshooting/repair/calibration/maintenance, computer hardware/software/networking, and facility support (computer/network hardware and operating systems, electronics, additive and subtractive fabrication, etc…)

    + Ability to interpret complex technical materials/schematics/data

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in science or engineering discipline

    Job Description

    Laboratory Services Technician II is responsible for laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration,

     

    troubleshooting, and repair.

    Job Duties

    + Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools used for repair and maintenance

    + Respond to work requests for equipment repair and maintenance according to established priority

    + Train, supervise, and inspect the work of student workers

    + Respond to work requests for lab infrastructure modifications

    + Use additive and/or subtractive manufacturing to fabricate custom assemblies in support of equipment and lab spaces

    + Responsible for maintaining IT resources including closed networks for data transfer, re-imaging PCs, software licensing

    + Respond to high volume email from clients and vendors related to lab activity
