Join our team as a Medical Staff Coordinator!
The Medical Staff Coordinator plays a vital role in managing the credentialing process for medical and allied health professionals. Working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, this position ensures the accuracy and completeness of primary source verification (PSV) documents, maintains practitioner data, and coordinates initial appointments and reappointments. The coordinator supports peer review activities, facilitates communication with medical staff leadership, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as JCAHO, NCQA, and state medical societies. This role requires strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration across departments to uphold the integrity of clinical privileges and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities:
+ Review PSV documents for accuracy, completeness, and discrepancies.
+ Compare PSV, CVs, and credentialing forms; initiate additional verification as needed.
+ Collect and validate practitioner data from applicants, internal databases, and primary facilities.
+ Ensure credentialing data is complete and accurate for chiefs and chairpersons.
+ Coordinate initial and reappointment credentialing for medical and allied health staff.
+ Maintain practitioner profiles, credentialing schedules, and status reports.
+ Facilitate peer review processes and support committees in performance assessment.
+ Perform mandated queries with the National Practitioner Data Bank and monitor compliance.
+ Communicate with CVO and other departments to resolve data issues and ensure timely credentialing.
+ Stay current with JCAHO, NCQA, and state accreditation standards.
+ Manage credentialing-related communications, updates, and documentation.
+ Organize medical staff events, including invitations, logistics, and guest check-ins.
+ Maintain office supplies, calendars, and coordinate facility maintenance.
+ Support medical staff leadership with privilege documentation and scope of practice updates.
+ Report credentialing issues to the Director and pursue additional information as needed.
+ Associate's or B.S. degree in Business or Healthcare Administration is preferred; however, 3 years experience may be substituted for a degree.
+ Direct experience in Medical Staff Services preferred.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification by the National Association for Medical Staff Services preferred.
