UPMC Western Maryland is looking for a Crisis Clinician, Supervisor to support our team at the Center for Hope & Healing!
The Center for Hope & Healing is a residential crisis service facility where we provide support for adults with mental health illnesses and addictions. The Crisis Clinician, Supervisor is responsible for oversight and supervision at the Center for Hope & Healing.
Eligible candidates can receive a Sign-On Bonus of up to $5,000, depending on commitment!
This is a full-time position that will primarily work Monday - Friday dayshift.
Responsibilities:
+ Participate in interdisciplinary activities such as staff meetings.
+ Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches.
+ In collaboration with Crisis Program Coordinator completes staff performance evaluation, staff development, and carries out appropriate corrective action.
+ Work efficiently and independently in crisis setting.
+ Develop orientation for all new crisis clinicians and assigns mentor.
+ Complete consumer/family crisis assessments (face to face and telephone).
+ Meet standards for documentation and completes all required paperwork.
+ Provide crisis services in a community and/or office setting.
+ Support consumer and suggest/recommend appropriate referral services.
+ Work with motivational interviewing and able to utilize specific techniques.
+ Assess consumer needs and assist consumer in developing a crisis plan.
+ Provide supportive counseling to promote consumer stability.
+ Serve as shift supervisor and oversees daily functions in the office in coordination with Crisis Program Coordinator.
+ Provide follow-up services to consumers by phone and/or mobile visits.
+ Provide insight & knowledge of insurance programs, processes and able to obtain authorizations as needed.
+ Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work. Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services.
+ Three years of mental health experience required.
+ Work history that includes phone triage, as well as an in depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments.
+ Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in home therapy preferred.
+ Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.
+ Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities.
+ May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients. Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Per Maryland state regulations, if candidate has a Masters in Psychology, they must hold a LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) or a LGPS (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor). If candidate has a Masters in Social Work, they must hold a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) or LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work)
