Senior Director, Corporate Real Estate

Reporting to the Head of Real Estate Americas, the Senior Director, Corporate Real Estate is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of Aon’s North American real estate portfolio, encompassing 100+ leased office locations. This role will drive portfolio optimization, lead end-to-end real estate transactions, and ensure alignment with Aon’s business objectives and financial targets.

What the day will look like
+ Portfolio Strategy & Optimization
+ Develop and implement real estate strategies to support business growth, operational efficiency, and workplace transformation.
+ Discover opportunities for portfolio consolidation, expansion, and flexible workspace solutions.
+ Supervise space utilization, occupancy planning, and workplace standards across all North American locations.
+ Transaction Management
+ Lead all aspects of real estate transactions including site selection, lease negotiations, renewals, acquisitions, and dispositions.
+ Maintain relationships with brokers, landlords, and external partners to secure favorable terms and mitigate business risk.
+ Ensure timely execution of transactions in line with business and financial objectives.
+ Financial Management
+ Prepare and lead annual real estate budgets; monitor and control expenses to achieve cost savings.
+ Conduct financial analysis, scenario planning, and performance reporting to support executive decision-making.
+ Optimize capital investments and operating costs across the portfolio.
+ Market Intelligence & Compliance
+ Monitor and analyze real estate market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
+ Ensure all activities stay in sync with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
+ Stakeholder Engagement
+ Collaborate with internal teams (Legal, Finance, HR, Operations) to align real estate initiatives with business needs.
+ Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, providing updates and recommendations on portfolio performance and strategy.
+ Team Leadership
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of real estate professionals.
+ Develop a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in real estate, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
+ 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, with at least 5 years in a leadership role running large, multi-site portfolios in North America.
+ Demonstrated expertise in real estate transaction management, lease negotiations, and portfolio optimization.
+ Strong financial savvy with experience in budgeting, financial modeling, and cost management.
+ Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
+ MS Office Suite.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead teams and get results in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
+ Travel at 50% or greater required.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $150,000 to $210,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
Aon offers a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and regular part-time colleagues, including, but not limited to: a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions; an employee stock purchase plan; consideration for long-term incentive awards at Aon’s discretion; medical, dental and vision insurance.
