A Day in the Life of a Civil Designer at Hanson
Here’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:
+ Perform engineering design including analysis, calculations, layout, and drafting of details
+ Prepare and produce construction plans and modify specifications
+ Develop engineering estimates and quantities for construction
+ Coordinate and communicate field construction activities with clients, contractors, and project team members
+ Collaborate with design teams across local and national offices
+ Support civil sitework, roads, utilities, drainage, and infrastructure projects from concept through construction administration
+ Other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For-
We feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:
Skills
+ Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Excel, Word, and ArcGIS (preferred)
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts visually and in writing
+ Interest in diverse assignments and innovative design technologies
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems and learn new skills
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
+ Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE Exam prior to hire
+ Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a civil engineering environment (preferred)
Additional Information
+ Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
+ Valid driver’s license required
Salary Range: $74,000 – $82,000
