Challenging Projects
As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with JCTM, you will play a critical role in supporting the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory’s Science & Technology Division. You’ll oversee and enhance the security posture of classified and unclassified systems in dynamic mission-focused environments. Your work will ensure compliance, protection, and readiness for emerging defense technologies.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide oversight and support for system confidentiality, integrity, and availability through lifecycle security management.
+ Develop and maintain all required documentation for RMF system accreditation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
+ Manage certification and accreditation processes aligned with DoD policies and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
+ Perform system security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring in coordination with technical and operational stakeholders.
+ Support mitigation of vulnerabilities by ensuring timely implementation of applicable patches, IA vulnerability alerts (IAVAs), bulletins (IAVBs), and technical advisories (TAs).
+ Participate in network and systems design to incorporate appropriate cybersecurity policies and technical controls.
+ Interface with Security Control Assessors (SCAs), Authorizing Officials (AOs), and other key stakeholders to maintain authority to operate (ATO), authority to connect (ATC), or interim authority to test (IATT).
+ Provide feedback on cybersecurity trends, compliance issues, and risk findings.

New Skills
Join a multidisciplinary team and gain exposure to evolving frameworks such as RMF, DoD 8510.01, and ICD 503. You’ll further develop expertise with Marine Corps cybersecurity platforms and accreditation processes, including MCCAST and DoDIIS security guidance.

You Have
+ Active TS/SCI clearance.
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) and at least 4 years of related experience; or 8 years of relevant experience without a degree.
+ DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
+ In-depth understanding of RMF and experience preparing full system accreditation packages.
+ Familiarity with system security risk management and vulnerability remediation.
+ Ability to work independently and lead documentation efforts through ATO/ATC/IATT approvals.
Nice to Haves
+ Experience with:
+ DoD 8510.01 and ICD 503
+ Certification and Accreditation processes for Intelligence Community systems
+ DoDIIS Joint Security Implementation Guide (DJSIG)
+ Marine Corps Certification and Accreditation Support Tool (MCCAST)
+ Familiarity with cloud cybersecurity environments
+ Ability to communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders
+ Knowledge of cyber threat trends and incident response protocols
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.
