Job Summary
The Supervisor, Electric Billing, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Electric Billing Department as well as executing more complex billing processes. The Supervisor will ensure work is completed accurately and on time, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a positive and productive work environment and team culture. The Supervisor will be a hands-on leader who can drive efficiency, cross-train staff, and act as a key liaison between the billing team and other departments. The Supervisor II will maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality as well as maintain adherence to EPB policies and procedures. The Supervisor role requires substantial independent judgement and excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Supervise the daily workflow of the billing team to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. This includes monitoring work queues, schedules, and assigning tasks to staff.
+ Execute select complex billing processes that require advanced knowledge and problem-solving skills, serving as a subject matter expert for the team.
+ Provide guidance and support to billing team members, fostering a positive work environment and holding employees accountable for their performance, attendance, and behaviors. Drive cross-training initiatives to ensure the team can handle a variety of tasks and maintain continuity.
+ Actively troubleshoot and resolve complex billing issues and discrepancies. Serve as the first point of escalation for customer and internal inquiries.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between the billing group and other departments to facilitate clear communication and resolve interdepartmental issues. Keep the department manager informed of team performance, challenges, and successes.
+ Identify opportunities to improve billing processes and drive efficiencies. Develop a deep knowledge of all billing systems and procedures to step in and perform any job within the group as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in billing, accounting, or a related financial or operational role.
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing a team.
Certifications & Other Requirements
+ Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
+ Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, independent thinking, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
+ Strong organizational and time management abilities.
+ Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
+ Seasoned judgment in interpersonal relationships, as well as approaching work with a servant attitude, is required.
+ Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization and customers.
May perform other duties as assigned.

This EPB job is essential to support this critical infrastructure and may be required to work onsite or in the field to maintain these services.
