    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a local Data Engineering Manager for a top financial services client in the Des Moines area. This Manager will lead a team of 5 Data Engineers. They will oversee the team's product roadmap while working closely with the Product Owner and leadership team. They will be in meetings understanding the upcoming work and what is currently in flight. This person will need to have experience leading a team and overseeing direct reports. They will need to have an understanding of the technology in place and have a product focused mindset. This leader will be responsible for data solutions and supporting multiple business units in modernizing current existing data architecture. The annual salary for this role is between $135,000-$150,000/yr depending on experience.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Previous leadership experience

     

    Understanding of how Snowflake, Databricks, or other SQL-based data warehouses are used

     

    Worked in a product-focused team rather than project-focused

     

    Cloud architecture knowledge Experience w/ data modeling, ETL patterns and CI/CD (Kafka, Kinesis, etc)

     

    Financial or insurance industry experience

     

    Understanding of data quality frameworks and governance practices
