    Job Description

    As a Network Operations Field Technician, you will apply your basic knowledge of all areas of telecommunications and perform maintenance on telecommunications equipment. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

     

    •Installing and wiring routers/switches, coordinating for configuration and troubleshooting.

    •Install and provision of transport equipment and ethernet services supporting MPLS network

    •Testing, deployment, and documentation supporting system upgrades, patches, and maintenance window activities.

    •Respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster support

    •Participate in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms

    •Installation and wiring of routers/switches along with coordination with multiple groups for configuration and troubleshooting.

    •Effectively identify and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments.

     

    This position can pay from $35-45/hr based on experience.

    Skills and Requirements

    •2-3 years experience racking and stacking routers and switches

    •Hands on installations of Nokia radios, Cisco routers, Palo Alto firewalls, UPS (uninterruptible power supply) and fiber

    •Knowledge of fiber terminations, data circuits, 48V and 135Vdc power plants.

    •Experience with DC plant systems, LAN and wireless testing, fiber optic test equipment, and various cabling types.

    •Live within 45 minutes of Cayce, SC and ability to travel up to an hour and a half

    •Ability to lift 45-50 lbs
