Job Description
Join our Advanced Engineering team and take the lead in building and optimizing enterprise networks. In this role, you’ll configure and program routers and switches to ensure seamless connectivity and secure operations across the organization. You’ll also design, plan, and implement network architecture, integrating hardware and software components while documenting technical details for future scalability. Beyond network implementation, you’ll evaluate and certify new devices to support upcoming product launches in late 2025 and early 2026, while managing the firmware lifecycle for existing products and addressing urgent break-fix requests. Additional responsibilities include assessing current technologies to identify performance and capacity gaps, establishing robust security measures such as firewalls and intrusion detection, and defining connectivity and access parameters. You’ll provide strategic recommendations to optimize infrastructure and rigorously test and fine-tune security systems to maintain enterprise-grade reliability. This role offers competitive pay starting at $38/hr, with increases based on experience, and the chance to contribute to innovative projects under exceptional leadership. Skills and Requirements
2 years of Network Engineering experience in lab environment
Basic routing and switching experience with knowledge of routing protocols and switch platforms
Basic knowledge of network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure
Knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Ethernet, OSI Model, TCP/IP, etc. Knowledge of Charter's products and services
Any current industry and vendor specific certifications/training - CCNA, Juniper, etc.
