Job Description

The Product Specialist / Deal Desk serves as a key resource for structuring mortgage deals and ensuring compliance across a wide range of products. This role focuses on reviewing loan files and assisting sales teams in structuring complex deals, leveraging deep product knowledge to optimize outcomes. Ideal candidates will have a background in mortgage sales or processing, with strong familiarity in Non-QM products and other specialized loan programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review incoming loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with product guidelines.

• Provide guidance to loan officers and processors on structuring deals using multiple mortgage products (Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Non-QM, etc.).

• Act as a subject matter expert for product eligibility, pricing, and documentation requirements.

• Collaborate with sales teams to identify solutions for challenging scenarios and ensure smooth deal execution.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of investor guidelines, regulatory changes, and internal product updates.

• Support training initiatives by sharing best practices and product insights with sales and operations teams.

• Escalate complex cases to underwriting or compliance when necessary.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in mortgage lending, preferably in sales or processing roles.

Strong understanding of mortgage products, including Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Non-QM, and alternative loan programs.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in Encompass Experience in deal desk/scenario desk or product support roles.

Familiarity with investor overlays and secondary market requirements.

Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex loan scenarios.
