Job Description

An employer is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a year-long contract opportunity, with possible extensions. The client is a large bank and the Software Engineer will be supporting a high throughput real-time decision engine for Fraud Detection and Prevention. The work is a mix of real-time integrations via API (Springboot), building integration services (e.g. Java, Tokenization), Application Config (Setup, Access, Data, Rules), Platform Support (Linux, Containers), and Deployments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Full lifecycle application development

• Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages.

• Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis

• Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)

• Software modeling and simulation

• Front end graphical user interface design

• Software testing and quality assurance

• Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.

• Support, maintain and document software functionality

• Integrate software with existing systems

• Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation

• Maintain standards compliance

• Implement localization or globalization of software

• Undergraduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology or a related discipline.

Skills and Requirements

• 5-10+ years’ experience in full lifecycle application development

• Strong, recent experience with Java

• Strong, recent experience with Spring Boot frameworks

• AWS Cloud

• Experience with deployments on OpenSystems Windows and/or Linux • ETL (Datastage/DBT)

• Experience in the banking/financial services industry

• OpenShift

• Experience managing vendor systems and platforms
