• Senior Machine Learning Engineer

    Description

    SAIC is seeking a **Machine Learning Engineer** to join our team at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

     

    The Machine Learning (ML) Engineer will be responsible for integrating, scaling, and deploying machine learning models and systems to support the Army Intelligence & Security Enterprise (AISE). This role will focus on operationalizing AI/ML solutions, optimizing model performance, and ensuring scalability and reliability in real-world applications. The ML Engineer will collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver mission-critical AI capabilities.

     

    **Job Duties** :

    + Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to address mission-critical challenges.

    + Optimize model performance through hyperparameter tuning, feature engineering, and algorithm selection.

    + Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are optimized for ML workloads.

    + Implement MLOps practices to automate the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of ML models.

    + Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of ML systems in operational environments.

    + Stay updated on advancements in machine learning frameworks, tools, and methodologies.

    + Support the operational integration of AI/ML solutions to enhance intelligence capabilities

    Qualifications

    Required Education:

    Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD or JD and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

     

    **Qualifications** :

    + Five (5) or more years of experience in machine learning engineering, systems engineering, or related roles.

    + Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.

    + Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

    + Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

    + Experience with leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, or similar frameworks for tasks like natural language processing (NLP), text generation, summarization, or conversational AI.

    + Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

    + Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learning.

    + Familiarity with Army Intelligence Enterprise data requirements and workflows.

    + Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
