    Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

     

    The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment. This position ensures the kitchen and dish areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times to support smooth kitchen operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Wash dishes, pots, equipment using the kitchen dishwasher

    + Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces.

    + Restock clean dishes and utensils in their proper storage areas.

    + Remove trash and recycling from kitchen areas as needed.

    + Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures at all times.

    + Assist with basic food prep or other cleaning tasks as directed by kitchen staff or management.

    + Check and report any cleaning supply or equipment issues to management.

    + Ensure compliance with all health department and company sanitation standards.

    Qualifications:

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

    + Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

    + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

    + Commitment to cleanliness and attention to detail.

    Work Environment:

    + Fast-paced kitchen setting.

    + Exposure to hot water, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.

    + May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
