    To provide spiritual care for the residents of the Minnesota Veterans Home-Luverne.

     

    This position is designated as part-time and will work primarily on the day shift. The work schedule will include at least 32 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially not eligible for insurance benefits.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    + Bachelor's degree in Theology or related degree program

    + 2 years of experience performing independent pastoral care and counseling in a parish or specialized ministry setting

    + Completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education

    + Thorough knowledge of community-based religious resources available to residents

    + Exceptional human relations skills sufficient to provide pastoral care, counseling, and empathy for the issues experienced by residents in a private and confidential matter

    + Communication and presentation skills sufficient to conduct services that are creative and engaging

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master of Divinity degree or a related degree program from a graduate school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools

    + Previous experience as a Chaplain in healthcare

    Additional Requirements

    This position requires successful completion of the following:

    + A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.

    + A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.

    + Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
