    The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a highly talented and enthusiastic recent engineering graduate to join our dedicated team at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This pivotal role offers immediate engagement with projects supporting the **Active Response Gravity Offload System (ARGOS)** and **ARGOS Advanced Extravehicular Activity (EVA) eXploration Systems (AX3S)** .

You will contribute to the design, development, and operational support of ARGOS and AX3S, state-of-the-art facilities that simulate reduced gravity environments. Here, astronauts and robotic systems are offloaded from Earth's gravity in a specialized gimbal, enabling critical engineering analysis, astronaut trials, and comprehensive training for operations in Lunar, Martian, or microgravity environments. Your work will directly involve support in the development of advanced gimbal systems for both ARGOS and AX3S, pioneering next-generation life support technologies, and providing essential ARGOS operational support. This is an unparalleled chance to contribute to the foundational technologies propelling NASA’s deep-space exploration initiatives and humanity’s return to the Moon and Mars.

This position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated projects.

    Responsibilities:

+ Design, develop, integrate, and test the Breathable Air System of ARGOS and AX3S.

+ Design, develop, integrate, and test Gimbals utilized in both ARGOS and AX3S.

+ Support ARGOS and AX3S Operations.

+ Design and develop mechanisms and structural elements.

+ Integrate, test, and assemble hardware.

+ Create, verify, validate, and analyze mechanical drawings.

+ Create documentation of the ARGOS and AX3S systems and subsystems.

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

+ U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG Facilities.

+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or related field of study.

+ Experience in all phases of the engineering design process (including concept brainstorming, requirements definition, prototyping, detailed design, analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and validation).

    + Experience with Software.

+ Familiarity with basic design for manufacturing principles.

+ Experience with structural design, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), mechanisms, motor sizing, and gearing.

    + Experience with sensor integration.

+ Experience with static and dynamics engineering analysis.

+ Experience with material properties and standards.

+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.

+ Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.

+ Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.

+ Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.

    _Desired:_

    + Experience with PTC Creo.

+ Experience with fluid mechanics with focus on pressurized air systems.

    + Passed F.E. Exam

+ Experience with the Project Management and Design cycle processes, e.g., PDR, CDR.
