    Michael foods, Inc. located in Britt, Iowa where more eggs are produced within a 100 mile radius than anywhere in the world. Small town living and friendly faces make Britt, Iowa a place to call home. Our location is an egg processing flacility that varies from breaking, pasteurization, and dried egg.     Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:

    The Maintenance Lead provides both Maintenance and Reliability services within the plant, championing

    executional excellence and asset health improvement efforts. The Maintenance Lead will ensure results

    while partnering with the MFI ARM team, plant maintenance team personnel, plant operational team, and

    all other plant support teams members for success. The Maintenance Lead will partner with the

    maintenance workflow process team and will ensure that work orders for plant assets are in the CMMS

    backlog and are being planned and scheduled effectively. The Maintenance Lead will work with

    technicians to ensure that scheduled work orders are properly executed, followed through, documented

    and value of the job is captured and reported. They will promote, execute, mentor, and coach excellence

     

    in preventive and corrective maintenance practices. The Maintenance Lead will become a resource to

     

    the plant who constantly focuses on improving the operating condition of equipment and improving the

     

    skill sets and performance of the maintenance team.

    This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation

    to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food

    Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process

    variability. This role must be available to work scheduled work times, weekends, and holidays, as

     

    necessary.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead maintenance team members and tasks to ensure personal safety, quality, delivery, and

     

    cost, are continuously being improved to achieve company objectives. Engage and develop the

     

    asset care team members to deliver expected levels of reliability. Be an active member who

     

    contributes to the advancement of the MFI & ARM culture.

     

    • Execute and champion Precision Maintenance®

     

    techniques ensuring procedural compliance and

    that job tolerances are met

    • Identify, develop, justify, and implement reliability and performance improvement projects

    • Responsible for identifying, coordinating, and facilitating maintenance and reliability training for

    team personnel

    • Lead / assist craftsman during maintenance assignments

    • Lead technical troubleshooting tasks while assisting other plant personnel in a teaching

    environment

    • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks with excellence

    • Utilize MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support reliability reporting and decision

     

    making. This will be accomplished through the guidance of MFI ARM standards.

     

    • Keep accurate and up-to-date records (i.e., SAP data, training documentation, etc..).

    • Provides input for root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an

     

    environment of continuous asset reliability improvement.

     

    • Promote, and foster Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.

    • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors. Accountable for a safe and healthy

     

    workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and

     

    health in all jobs and tasks.

     

    • Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that

     

    product quality is maintained. Reports conditions or practices that may adversely affect food

     

    safety and quality.

     

    • Always ensures required regulatory compliance.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent

    • Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate, or experience which demonstrates technical

    aptitude preferred

    • 3 to 5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician preferred

    • Trained and competent in MFI MTL1, MTL2, & MTL3 skills preferred

    • MFI People Leadership Essentials or equivalent training preferred

    • Active Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) membership preferred

    • Prior experience in SAP preferred.

    • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management skills.

    • Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair

     

    programs.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The

     

    employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use

    hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or

    crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision

    abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth

    perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies

     

    from hot to cold in temperature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that

     

    must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable
