Introduction

Responsibilities would include:

• Collaborate with IBM Global Real Estate as well as design and engineering firms on facility design, layout and usage

• Collaborate with current lab and tool owners on future lab’s tool selection, usage, and operation to ensure ultimate operational requirements are satisfied.

• Coordinating timeline of equipment/tool purchases and installations with the technology transfer schedule.

• Develop capacity and staffing planning models.

• Develop an MES strategy for the facility.

• Develop a logistic plan supporting the technology transfer.

Your role and responsibilities

IBM is seeking to hire an experienced Engineering Project Manager. The Engineering Project Manager will work with the IBM Hardware team based in Yorktown Heights, NY to build and ramp-up a new lab on the IBM campus in Poughkeepsie, NY. The position will initially be based in Yorktown with occasional travel to Poughkeepsie but will transition over the first two years to being in Poughkeepsie, with occasional travel to Yorktown.

The Engineer will need to have experience managing semiconductor operations related to both process, equipment engineering and technology integration. The engineer will be the lead for the technology transfer and will guide the project through the various phases including interacting with the facilities construction team; selection and purchase of the equipment; installation of the equipment; technology transfer into the facility; and ultimately, operation of the facility.

It is envisioned that this role will transition to an operational leadership role in the new Poughkeepsie lab as the team grows.

Required technical and professional expertise

* Strong semiconductor equipment and process background

* Experience in semiconductor packaging integration or technology transfer

* Significant experience in the selection of semiconductor or packaging tools, creating purchase specifications, installation of equipment, and maintaining tools

* Experience running high visibility technology programs that included technology transfer and process matching

* Experience with semiconductor facilities operations

Preferred technical and professional experience

* This will be a research lab, so experience in working in fast pace, rapidly changing research lab.

* Proven experience leading diverse teams, including past management experience.

* Experience with semiconductor packaging operations
