    The Opportunity

     

    This position works out of our Orlando, FL location in the Abbott Heart Failure, Acelis Connected Health business. Our Heart Failure solutions are helping address some of the World’s greatest healthcare challenges.

     

    The Billing Supervisor will provide overall leadership for all billing/collection team activities to assure that the business and compliance requirements are implemented in the day to day activities of the billing team. The primary responsibility of this position will be to drive claims to insurance companies and governmental (Medicare) billings and obtain collections targets set by management. These targets will be achieved by designing, implementing, and managing billing and collection processes of DME Services. The Billing Supervisor must have hands on experience working directly with Managed , Commercial insurance companies and Medicare , Medicaid and be able to supervise team members in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    What You’ll Work On

    + Act as subject matter expert to entire department on issues related to their specific areas of expertise.

    + Develop and deliver technical training courses. Oversees training of new associates.

    + Act as department conduit for knowledge sharing and communication on optimal usage of system tools.

    + Prepare complex trend analyses, identify root causes of complex issues and trends and act as subject matter expert for Billing and Collections.

    + With very limited guidance from Manager, prepare compelling data presentations, identify emerging operational issues and act as champion to drive implementation of process improvements both inside and outside the department.

    + Support relationships and engage in effective communications with our most important customers and with Abbott sales force management OR Independently manage divisional and corporate accounting, budget, and reporting requirements.

    + Coordinate and lead intra-department process improvement teams.

    + Completes daily and month-end reporting, as well as tracking of key billing and collections metrics.

    + Improves billing and collections processes on a continual basis.

    + Reviews, analyzes and identifies delinquent status of assigned account base to determine appropriate account assignment and collection efforts to obtain highest degree of success.

    + Delegates Work assignments to the teams based on Billing / Collection reporting and priorities

    + Updates collection policy and procedures as appropriate or assigned.

    + Operates independently under general management direction; work is only reviewed to determine if desired results and objectives have been achieved.

    + Independently manages frequent multiple or conflicting priorities.

    + Customer relationship management (both internal and external). Expected to identify root causes of payment issues and to propose solutions to management.

    + Recognize gaps, recommend and implement enhancements, and gain management support.

    + Plans and leads varied and complex projects within a specialty, analyzes results, prepares and presents recommendation to management.

    + Innovative thinking is required Failure to achieve results may result in adverse impact on customer relationships, loss of cash flow to Abbott, or audit issues.

    + Mastery of Abbott information systems - SAP A/R system and AES/SAP order management system.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

    + A minimum of 4 years of experience in Billing /Collection experience and advanced Excel skills are strongly preferred

    + Demonstrated ability to handle increasing and broader areas of responsibility

    The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
