Job Description
The primary role of the Customized Training Representative Grant Manager (CTRGM) is to lead grant-funded training partnerships on behalf of Hennepin Technical College with businesses and non-profit organizations to train workers, expand work opportunities and keep high-quality jobs in the state of Minnesota. The CTRGM will work with industry and other partners to cultivate short-term training opportunities and recommend grant funding sources focused in HTC’s Academic Program areas, that lead to full-time employment in the growth sectors of the state’s economy via appropriate State, Federal and Private Foundation grant funding. Position may include collaboration opportunities with other grant funded organizations, including colleges, universities, nonprofits, local governments, etc.
This position includes managing a budget, establishing new client relationships, re-directing existing clients to new grant-funded training opportunities, project management, timeline management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all grant management and paperwork accountabilities. The position will support grant writing and may do independent grant development/ writing. As part of grant award program implementation, this role will require adherence to established Customized Training Representative (CTR) course execution procedures, while providing occasional client services to support the CTS team/ and or broaden the work portfolio. Internal and external stakeholders include: grant writers, clients, representatives from grant-funding sources, deans, faculty and Customized Training Solutions (CTS) counterparts.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
1. Cultivate industry partner relationships to launch new grant-funded programs that accelerate training in the designated focus areas.
+ Leverage existing Hennepin Technical College client relationships to expand grant-funded training efforts.
+ Establish ongoing corporate alliances and partnerships, and develop consultative relationships in an effort to drive community economic development through workforce improvements.
+ Establish ongoing alliances with grant funders, staff and key stakeholders to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the grant management process, as well as identify new grant opportunities.
+ Work closely with deans, faculty, finance and CTS counterparts to become well-versed in HTC academic program and customized training offerings.
+ Develop and deliver on a workforce development strategy to increase the number of industry partners/individuals served and grant training dollars utilized, that simultaneously reinforces HTC financial reporting accuracy.

2. Develop new workforce training programs in targeted areas that deliver on industry partner workforce needs.
+ Consult with industry partners (clients and representatives from grant-funding sources) and academic partners (deans, faculty and CTS counterparts) to identify areas of opportunity for new and existing programs to address workforce needs.
+ Facilitate needs assessment conversations between clients and faculty to deliver tailored curriculum and course delivery methods that address key training needs.
+ Work cross-functionally to develop a clear project schedule and work plan, determining and defining the project scope and objectives, and monitoring progress/making adjustments as needed.
+ Identify and recruit new and existing faculty to deliver and develop relevant programs.
+ Analyze workforce and educational trends to identify and develop in-demand training, industry certifications and credentials needed in the workplace.
+ Identify relevant professional development opportunities to stay well-informed within the industries served.

3. Serve as the liaison between the client, grant-funding sources, grant writers, deans, faculty, and the CTS counterparts to effectively manage all grant requirements from inception to completion.
+ Provide timely communication with clients and key stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with grant writers and clients to ensure all proposed training details and desired outcomes are clearly articulated in the grant application process.
+ Provide oversight and tracking of all grant management timelines, including planning and resource allocation, progress monitoring, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Manage grant budgets to ensure all expenses and client match dollars are appropriately monitored for accuracy and alignment with the approved funding plan.
+ Provide grant writing support and/ or grant development and writing.
+ Develop a limited customized training representative portfolio to support team needs or fill gaps in grant activities.
+ Adhere to established CTR course execution and program management processes.
+ Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure operational processes are being followed.

4. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation
of the organization as a viable business partner. Represent CTS in appropriate internal college functions.

Salary Range:
$30.23 ($63,120) - $53.58 ($111,875)
Minimum Qualifications
+ Three (3) years of project or grant management work – or similar work that demonstrates scheduling, fulfillment and budget management. · Two (2) years providing services to employers, students and/ or internal departments.
+ Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects, set priorities, and schedule activities in a rapidly changing environment.
+ Demonstrated experience working in a team setting to support customers.

+ Excellent communication skills with proven success in cross-functional collaboration.
+ Ability to work independently and adhere to State, System and College priorities. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
+ Ability to present to large and small groups.
+ Skills in active listening, using questioning techniques, paraphrasing, summarizing and handling objections effectively.
Preferred Qualification
+ Two (2) Years of experience in workforce development sector strategies as it relates to business and education partnerships.
+ Two (2) Years of experience in establishing business-to-business relationships and conducting needs assessments for training/business consultation.
+ Understand key aspects of economic and workforce development training.
+ Education and training techniques of instructional methods as it relates to large and small groups.
+ Knowledge of education philosophy and practices (adult learning) with regards to program and curriculum development and program assessment and evaluation.
+ A bachelor’s degree and three years of workforce development training experience.
